Here’s my penny haul for 11/11! Funny enough, I didn’t find any of the items on today’s penny list, but I did find yet more from last week’s massive penny lists, one old penny, and one that was a surprise to me – it’s probably from a really old list and has just been sitting there a long time, but just in case it was a surprise penny from today, I’ve shared the UPC below. This is what I got:
7 All Purpose Pans With Lid – originally $3.00, paid .01 each. This was from last week’s penny list, I believe? These will be awesome the next time I need to bring a dish to a party!
2 Packages of Kotex liners – regularly $1.00 each, used a $3.00 off 2 digital coupon in the DG app, which adjusted down to $2.00 and made these free!
1 Muze by Vivitar Stealth Bluetooth Earbuds – approximately $14.99 new, paid .01 cent. You can’t beat electronics for a penny! I believe I saw a product similar to this somewhere in last week’s penny lists, which is what motivated me to check the price on this one.
1 Suave deodorant – paid $2.00. There was no coupon or sale here, I just needed deodorant! 😂 For some reason, I’ve built a good stockpile of men’s deodorant, but it seems like the deals on women’s deodorant have been less plentiful. I could have just used one of the men’s deodorants from the stockpile, but I prefer to wear one that doesn’t have a “Masculine” scent!
1 Bag of Tide Downy Power Pods, 9ct – originally $5.75, stacked both a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon in the DG app for a total of $4.30 in coupons deducted, bringing the final price down to $1.45.
1 Giant pen – originally $3.00, paid .01 cent. This was from last week’s penny list, and I’ve already bought 6 of them!
1 Little Tikes Hopper – originally $5.00, paid .01 cent. This was also from last week’s penny list!
1 Phone squishy – originally $2.00, paid .01 cent. I’m not sure what exactly a “Phone squishy” is, but I’m interested to find out! I have no idea when this pennied – I have a feeling it’s an old penny item, because I was checking prices on items that seem to have been sitting in the same spot in the store forever collecting dust. But just in case this is a new surprise penny, here is the UPC:

This week, I scored my biggest penny shopping haul yet. There were a huge number of items that went to a penny starting on Tuesday – there were 27 different categories of seasonal items that pennied, I believe? And that was in addition to a separate penny list for OTC medications, a second surprise penny list for more items, and a list of hidden clearance items that had also pennied – so with all of these categories marking down to a penny at once, it was a prime penny shopping opportunity! My hauls occurred over the course of two days – my first shopping trip was on Tuesday morning, and I also went back that evening for a second haul. Then I went back again on Thursday evening and got even more stuff!

When I went back to Dollar General for my second go-round on Tuesday, one of the areas had been restocked with more inventory, some of which were pennies! What made me laugh was that they restocked the display of slug keychains after I bought several of them in my first trip, and reloaded the display with MORE slug keychains in a different color – gotta make sure the slug inventory is high, after all! 😂 All of the below were penny items except for one, which is noted:

1 Gravy packet – this was $1.15, and I purchased it because Ibotta are doing a promotion in November where they will be releasing a freebie rebate on a different Thanksgiving dinner side dish every Monday. This week’s deal was gravy, so I went ahead and picked up a packet during this trip so I could get on the gravy train, so to speak. It ended up being even better than free, because I got a $1.29 rebate back on Ibotta that same day, but the gravy only cost me $1.15 – I guess it must just be a flat rate rebate with a set amount? This means I got paid to buy it – so it’s all gravy, baby! What a great week of shopping this was! I was so excited about all the penny sunscreen, because that’s something I go through a lot of, and it can get pricey! The expiration dates are all well out into 2026 and 2027, so they’re perfect stockpile items – likewise for all the cold & flu products, which are also good until 2027, so my medicine cabinet is now fully stocked! I will be donating the surplus medicine, and donating or gifting most of the little trinkets and toys. I found so many cool and useful items this week which will all be put to good use – in total, this is $900 worth of stuff for less than two bucks!

I had a fun trip to Dollar General today where I snagged some 90% off clearance goodies, a few penny items, and ended up getting paid to buy one of them with Ibotta! My Dollar General Haul | Ibotta Money Maker on Penny Item – Deal Info
Today I picked up 4 penny items, and the rest of my haul were from the 90% off clearance sale – this is what I got:

1 bottle of Summer’s Eve Ultimate Odor Protection Daily Refreshing Wash – regularly around $5, paid .01 cent – this item wasn’t on today’s penny list, but I remembered seeing a ton of these feminine products on a penny list a few weeks back, and since I spotted this in the clearance section I scanned it to check; and sure enough, it was a penny too!

1 5-Hour Energy Extra Strength Sugar Free Peach Mango – regularly around $4, paid .01 cent

1 Gold Leaf Tray – regularly $3, paid .30 cents
1 Slim Jim Monster Smoked Meat Sticks, Mild Flavor – around $2 regularly, paid .01 cent; but I then got a .10 cent rebate on Ibotta, which made this item free plus .09 cents profit!
So I got 22 items with an approximate retail value of $63 for just $4.74; minus the .10 cent rebate, that brings my final cost for this shopping trip to $4.64!
Then, as soon as I got home, I got an alert from Ibotta that I had missed an offer, which leads me to:
Ibotta is a rebate app that I use frequently, and I have my Ibotta account linked with my DG rewards account, so they are synced up with my digital receipt history. If you should happen to buy something that qualifies for a rebate, but you didn’t clip the offer, Ibotta lets you know and gives you a chance to add these rebates for a window of time after your trip and still claim them, which I love! So after my trip, I got a notification from Ibotta that I had a missed offer on this shopping trip for .10 cents back on “Any Brand Kid Snacks”. It doesn’t tell me which specific item qualifies for this offer, but I presume this is on the jerky, because the only other consumable item – for humans, anyway! – is the 5-Hour Energy shot, which specifically says on the label that it’s not recommended for children; so the jerky is the only item it could be. And because the jerky only cost a penny, that means that it was free plus .09 cents profit! Here’s how to do the deal:
1. Log into your Ibotta account – if you don’t have one, you can click here to sign up or download the app and use my code tauedfw to sign up – you’ll get $5, and I’ll get $10! 🙂 Once you’re there, add the offer for “Any Brand Kid Snacks” at Dollar General. I also noticed that they have offers for “Any Brand Dog Treats” and “Any Brand Dry Cat Food”, and both those things are on the penny list this week, so that’s a potential money maker as well!
2. Look for the Slim Jim Monster Smoked Meat Sticks Mild Flavor, 1.94oz, UPC#: 26200144856
3. If you find this item, scan and make sure it’s a penny; if so, once you purchase it you should get the .10 cent offer added to your Ibotta account! I’m assuming this would probably apply to the other jerky items that are on the penny list this week as well, since the offer is for “Any Brand”, but I can’t confirm that so it’s just an educated guess. And make sure to add the “Any Brand” offers for cat food and dog treats and see if you can score there, as well! Helpful tip: Please be aware that if any food that has pennied is past its expiry date – whether for humans or pets – it is Dollar General policy that they can refuse to sell it to you if they choose.

Tonight I stumbled on a new coupon matchup that I used to score free nail polish, plus I found some fabulous penny items! Thanks to this video from Craz-E Coupons, I learned that a batch of surprise pennies just dropped. So of course I had to go check it out! I knew my store carried at least one of the items on the list, so I crossed my fingers that it was still there. As I got ready to head out to the store, I also watched this video from Roll Out Savings, and while I was in store I referred to this super helpful page on KristiesConnections.com that has visuals of these surprise pennies; I also referred to her clearance event coupon matchup pages to find the deodorant deal that I got. I appreciate all these creators so much for making my hauls possible! So here’s what I got:
2 boxes of iHop K-Cups, 10 count – paid .01 cent each
2 hats – paid .01 cent each
2 Ivory deodorants – included in the clearance event for $2 each, free after $2 cash back rebate
2 Sally Hansen nail polishes – on clearance for $1.23 each, used a $1.50/1 digital coupon in the DG app to make them free
As I was looking through the digital coupons on the Dollar General app, the first one I saw was the new $1.50 off 1 Sally Hansen nail polish coupon. I knew there were some Sally Hansen nail polishes in the clearance area, so I had a look and sure enough, located two that were $1.23 each. Because my husband also has a DG account, I texted him and asked him to join me in the store so he could get me another free nail polish, since I had found two. 😂 Since my store is using a new register, the coupon automatically adjusted down to $1.23, but if your store has an old register, you might get overage on this one!
In addition to the nail polish, Jai also followed my lead and picked up one of these Ivory deodorants, which are $2 each during the clearance event with a digital cash back offer of $2.I can always use free deodorant! ETA: Upon checking my DG app, I realized that the fine print of the offer says that you earn $2 back when you purchase two – D’OH! Even when you read and re-read the terms on these offers, you still occasionally miss something. So no free deodorant for me, but at least I got it half price, right? 🤦♀️ If you want to do this deal the right way, you could pick up 2 for $4, and after your $2 rebate, it will make them $1 each, which is a good deal if you like this deodorant!
I also scored on the surprise pennies – sure enough, the iHop coffee that I had spotted the previous day was still there, so I was able to score two boxes! That was a very exciting find for me, because I love coffee and drink so much of it. That’s a total of 20 cups for .02 cents, which is a true bargain!
Finally, I found these two baseball caps, which are both blue dot items – even two full weeks after blue dot accessories went to a penny, I’m still finding them in my store! Since the clearance event is going on, a lot of stuff is getting picked through and moved around, which is why I spotted the first hat randomly on a shelf. I then went through everything on the baseball cap rack and found the second hat.

Wow, what a week it’s been at Dollar General! Below, I’m recapping 5 trips I made on Thursday and Friday, and sharing visuals & UPCs for new surprise pennies that I found. To make it easy for you, here are links that will take you straight to whatever section you’d like to read first if you’re in a hurry:
It started with Tuesday’s penny haul, where I got a cart filled to the brim with hundreds of dollars worth of items for $1.50. Then, I found out that the Brown Dot Home 90% off clearance event had been re-scheduled to Thursday, along with a *second* penny list dropping the same day – thank you so much to Kristie’s Connections for keeping me up to date with all this info; and I always study the visuals that Craz-e Coupons shares as well, so shoutout to both the KC Dream Team and the Craz-e Crew for putting in the overtime this week to keep us all informed about the great deals!
So once again, I was at the store as soon as they opened on Thursday morning to check it out. My store didn’t have any of the penny fitness equipment, but I did find a few other straggler penny items from Tuesday’s markdown that were still hiding in the store, and I snagged a few home items on the cheap. As you can see, my bunny Precious had to come and inspect my haul! 😁

In total, I got $63.35 in merchandise for $5.29! The meal prep set is perfect for me as I’ve been doing freezer cooking lately. I also love the little planner – it’s the exact kind I like and fits in my purse, so great for writing things down on the go! I also needed more shelving, and the little trinkets will be fun to add to my teacher donation box. And I definitely needed the IcyHot after this long day of shopping! 😂
So I had quite literally just walked in the door after coming home from this trip, when I got back-to-back notifications on my phone from Roll Out Savings and Kristie’s Connections that there was a brand new, surprise penny list that had just dropped right there and then. So I quite literally turned around, and went straight back to the store! I didn’t have long to shop, because I was getting ready to head to Portland for a physical therapy appointment that afternoon, but I was still able to get a ton of stuff in the time I had! Everything in this trip was a penny item:

And in addition to the penny sale, when I scanned the Fixodent, I saw that there was a digital coupon attaching, so I clipped it. I was in such a rush that I didn’t stop to look at the details, but if you check in the app right now, there’s $2.00 off 2 and $4.00 off 2 coupons available, so as always, just check with the app to see what is attaching. My store is on a new register, so it adjusted my coupon down and took off one cent for each tube, making them both free! If you’re at an old register, you could potentially get overage with this, so heads-up. After coupons, I walked away with $206.29 in merchandise for .43 cents!!
 Click to view fullsize I was SO excited about all the beauty goodies!! I love makeup, and I buy eyebrow gel all the time, so what a find! There were a lot of awesome things here – I actually reviewed O’Keeffe’s on Contest Corner back in 2013, so I have used & enjoyed this very foot cream before! And speaking of blasts from the pasts, OG readers will remember my knee dislocation saga that started in 2010, so knee braces are yet another item I have bought several of previously!
Another theme you’ll see across my hauls in this post is that I came across a lot of personal care & health products that pennied. These are wonderful items to donate, and I’m currently compiling a list of local organizations I can donate to, such as shelters for women & the unhoused. If you happen to be a local reading this and you know an organization or group I should add to this list, please get in touch!
So after my second haul, it was time to head to Portland for my appointment. I made a plan to take Highway 30 back home just so we could hit two other Dollar General locations! 😂 My day started as soon as the doors opened at my local DG, and we didn’t get home until almost 11PM…phew!

Unfortunately, the two other locations I visited were a bust, with zero penny items and practically no Brown Dot Home clearance. I picked up just one item at each DG – at the first one, I got some Easter plates on 70% clearance for .30 cents, and at the second I got a bath mat on 90% clearance for .80 cents.

On Friday, I dropped back in to my local store have a more thorough look around the clearance section and see if I missed anything, and I was thrilled to find more penny beauty items!

Everything was a penny except for the toilet cleaner, which was a full price item from the dollar aisle; the reason I got it was simply because it looked fun – apparently, Tik Tok cleaning trends are now influencing regular cleaning products, because you’re meant to pour this product into the toilet and watch it turn into a large pink foam which will allegedly clean the bowl with little to no scrubbing. I love the color pink and will quite literally buy a cleaner just for being bright pink, so I couldn’t resist. 😂 And, it’s also a better price than buying toilet cleaner from even the Dollar Tree. In total, that’s 11 items originally priced at $29.68 for $1.10! I’m so excited about all the nail polish, and since I got four in one color, I’m going to use them for a girl’s night and give them to my friends so we can do a nail/spa moment at home.
My grand total between all five trips was $308.32 in items for $7.92 – a little over $300 in savings, not too shabby!

Just when I thought the golden age of couponing was over for good, I get a brand new entry for the Haul of Fame! That’s right – I walked into a store in 2025, got a cart full of merchandise, and then paid with two single dollars – and still got change back!!! I got 121 items total: All but one item were one cent each. The exception was a set of Easter bunny paper plates that were on 70% clearance for .30 cents – this category of seasonal item tends to completely sell out before they reduce to a penny, and this was the last set of Easter paper plates left, so I figured I’d go ahead and get it because .30 cents is a good price, and they will be cute for my bunny birthday parties. 😄 So here’s the haul:

So that’s $438.90 worth of items for $1.50!!! If you notice that long piece of paper on top of the Car Care kits in the photo of my haul, that is my extremely long receipt. It’s so long that I had to fold it in order to take a picture of it!
 Click to view full size When I started my shopping trip, I had a mental map of exactly where I wanted to go in the store, and I brought Jai with me because on a previous trip, I had spotted some items that were on the upcoming penny list up on a skyshelf, and I knew if they were still there, I’d need someone taller than me to reach them!😂 Indeed, it was invaluable having him there as the items I had noticed previously were in fact still up on the same shelf, along with some additional penny items I spotted on a skyshelf in a different aisle. I always think of the advice from Craz-e Coupons, who always says in her videos: “Look high, look low, look everywhere you go!”
As we first walked into the store, I swooped through the aisles picking up penny items like I was a contestant on Supermarket Sweep, putting entire cardboard display boxes full of slippers in my cart and loading it to the brim with backpacks and bags. Jai asked me how I knew these items were the right ones, and it’s because I’ve developed what Kristie’s Connections calls “Pennyvision”: I’ve now seen these items so many times during previous trips, and I watch the visual videos from creators like Kristie’s Connections and Craz-e Coupons over and over. Huge shoutout to Kristie’s Connections, who has such comprehensive visuals both in her videos and on her website here; this is my #1 resource for learning about penny items! And I also want to shoutout Craz-e Coupons, because she showed a visual for a blue dot item in this video I haven’t seen listed anywhere else, which are the kid’s water bottles that I got. I recognized them right away when I saw her video, especially since I’ve been spending so much time in the NCI section this past week, so I was able to pick these up for a penny as well.
I’m so excited about this haul – there’s so many fun things here! I’m so happy to have extra slippers, and I love the fun accessories like the sequined baseball caps! I’m also really excited about all the HotHands – I have chronic illnesses and use a heating pad religiously to make myself more comfortable, and I find these little warmers are fantastic to use while I’m out and about!
So I’ll be keeping some of these goodies for myself, and the rest will make great gifts and donations. (In case you were wondering what in the world I was going to do with 35 monster pens.😉) My BFF is a teacher, and some of these things will be perfect for her classroom. Remember the Oregon Ducks youth t-shirts I found for a penny recently? I gave her a big bag of those for the students, and apparently the school was excited to receive them; teachers spend a lot of their own money on school supplies, and are often funding food/hygiene pantries for children in the school as well. So if you also hit the blue dot jackpot today and are wondering where to donate your extras, check with your school or a teacher!

 Click to view fullsize I went out penny shopping last night after hearing all about the current penny items & sales at Dollar General thanks to Kristie’s Connections and Craz-E Coupons! If you’re unfamiliar with penny shopping, click here to check out my first post about it. I got a nice little haul, and even more exciting, I found 2 new surprise penny items that I haven’t seen anywhere else! (But if someone else has posted these already and I missed it, please let me know so I can check them out and link to them in this post!) Here’s what I found:
5 ID Guard Stamp Rollers – originally $10
5 Black Panther lunch boxes – regularly $8
1 Batman lunch box – regularly $8
3 butter dishes – regularly $8
So that’s $122 worth of merchandise for .14 cents – not too shabby! We also picked up a tube of Crest toothpaste that was free after coupon, two items on 90% clearance that were .80 cents each, and some OTC meds because my husband had a coupon on his DG account for $3 off a $15 purchase; but I didn’t bother photographing those because I wanted to focus on the penny haul and bring you the visuals and UPCs for all these surprise pennies!  Click to view fullsize I knew there were a lot of hidden penny items out there, so I took the advice from Kristie’s Connections & Craz-E Coupons to just scan everything you can in the NCI home area. I scanned almost every item in the kitchen aisle, since the kitchen items specifically are just one small-ish aisle in my store. That’s how I stumbled upon these butter dishes! They’re really cute, and the color scheme in my kitchen is pink and black, so this will go perfectly!
 Click to view fullsize As I was scanning the kitchen area, I automatically started scanning these lunchboxes, and then thought, “There’s no way these are going to be included, why am I bothering to scan them?” So imagine my surprise a half second later when the item popped up 0.00 on my DG app! Turns out, it WAS a penny item. 😀 I thought this was an awesome find – as you might have guessed from my name, Super Coupon Girl, I’m a big fan of comic books! I’ll be keeping a couple of these for myself, and then the rest will make wonderful gifts/donations.

I love “As Seen on TV” products, and I do need to go through my filing cabinet and toss some old paperwork, so I’ll give this a try!

This past weekend was the Dollar General Clearance Event, and I got a great haul! I shopped all three days of the event: Friday, to get everything I wanted before it disappeared; Saturday, to use the $5/off $25 coupon, and Sunday to use some new coupons that came out that day. Now, I’m not going to sit here and detail every single one of the 176 (!) items I got over the weekend – that wouldn’t be particularly interesting, and I don’t have the energy for that after a four-day clearance marathon.😂 Instead, I’m going to give you an overview of what I got and the most noteworthy deals I found. Even with me skimming over a lot of the boring details, this post is still insanely long, so here’s a quick menu you can use to navigate so your eyes don’t glaze over immediately:
So let’s jump right in:
I was super prepared for the Clearance Event – I spent Thursday familiarizing myself with all the items that were going to be 50-70% off by watching videos from Kristie’s Connections and Craz-E Coupons, and I did some reconnaissance at the store the night before. They had already set up tables and put out some of the items that were going to be on sale, so I memorized where the items I wanted were and figured out the most efficient route for walking through the store. On Friday morning, I got there at 7:45AM expecting a line of people to be waiting outside; but I was the only customer there! I heard so many stories this weekend from fellow coupon bloggers who encountered huge lines and packed stores, so I really lucked out, because I was the only customer there for a good 15 minutes after they opened – and since I had mapped out exactly where to go in the store, I was able to quickly pick up the main items on my list before anyone else even got there – and even after other customers arrived, there were maybe one or two at a time, and no one was paying much attention to the clearance; so this meant I had my pick of the litter! These were my priority items:
-Glade Air Fresheners: The Lavender & Aloe scent was on clearance for $1.01 and the Juniper & Teak was $1.24. There was a rebate for $1.50 in the DG app, so this was a .49 money maker for the Lavender and a .26 cent money maker on the Juniper! You could do this up to 5 times, so I got 5 and Jai also did a transaction and got 5 using his DG account as well. These were the first items I picked up!
–Next up was the Valentine’s Day & Football clearance items, priced at .15 cents each. I got everything from gift bags and cards to ornaments, paper cups and bibs. It’s really handy having some baby bibs in my gift box for the next time I’m putting together a baby shower gift!
–The third item I grabbed was coffee for $3.57 per bag. This was a great deal for me, so I got 6 bags, and I also bought two boxes of single serve Peppermint Mocha coffee. Single serve coffee is more expensive than regular grounds, and my machine has a reusable single serve cup that I can use to make my own, so I usually don’t buy pre-made K-cups; I just thought these sounded tasty and at $2.12 a box, it was worth picking up a couple. I was happy to be able to stock up on so much coffee – I drink a lot of coffee, and since coffee prices are expected to surge, stocking up now will save me money later.
-Next up: Axe Deodorant! There was a digital coupon for $5 off 2, and the ones I got on clearance were $2.42 and $2.57 respectively, so they were free plus one penny overage! Jai also got 2 Axe deodorants, but his coupon didn’t come off correctly so he ended up paying $2.42 for both deodorants. It’s a bummer that he didn’t get to use his coupon, but it’s still a good price for 2 deodorants, at least!
Other coupon deals of note:
-Finish Quantum Dishwasher Tabs: There was a $2 off coupon in the app, and I was able to find a small bag for $2.22 – meaning that I paid just .22 cents after coupon! That was the only bag in stock of that size, but I found the next smallest size, a 21 count bag priced at $3.85, so Jai got that one and paid $1.85 after coupon, which is still a great deal.
-Gain Fireworks: There was a store coupon in the app for $2 off, which stacked with a manufacturer’s coupon for $1.05 off, making this just .32 cents after coupon.
-Dove Soap: There was a coupon for $2 off in the app, and I found a package of bar soap on clearance for $3.60; so I paid $1.60 after coupon.
-Colgate & Hello toothpaste: There was a coupon for $2 off select varieties of toothpaste in the app. I picked up a tube of Hello toothpaste for $2.70 and Colgate for $2.57, so after coupon I paid around .63 cents per tube.
-Crest Kid’s Toothpaste: This was on sale for $1.50, and there was a $1 off coupon in the app, making it .50 cents after coupon. Jai got one of these also!
-Crest 3D Whitening Mouthwash: I got 2 bottles of this on clearance for $2.47 each, and after using a $2 off 2 coupon in the app, I paid just $1.47 per bottle.
That was the extent of my coupons on this transaction; the rest of my haul consists of things that were on a steep discount. I got some clothing items, like cozy pajama pants for $1.87 each, garbage cans for just .75 cents each, Tide Pods for $1.57, Cheetos-themed Post-its and erasers for .75 cents each, Suave Deodorants for .50 cents each, and things of that nature.
On Saturday, Jai and I both went back to DG to see if there were any new clearance items that had been put out, and use the $5 off $25 Saturday coupon. However, there were a few snags: We both had $7.50 in DG cash in our accounts from the Glade transaction the previous day that we planned to use, however, it would not work at checkout. The cashier followed the instructions and scanned the barcode exactly, but it just would not work; she tried every which way, and was the *second* cashier who had attempted to do it. So, I’ll have to get in touch with DG customer service and see what the problem is – has anyone else experienced this? If you know what’s causing it, please drop me a comment and let me know!
The second snag was that when I was ringing up my transaction, I ended up under $25 even though I thought I had enough. I could have grabbed some candy or something to get to $25, but I didn’t want to cause the poor cashier any more hassle, and there were other people in line, so I just wrote it off. I feel like my success rate with the $5/25 is about 50-50 – there always seems to be some problem that stops it coming off.
Also, I bought cereal on clearance both days that said they attached to the Kelloggs $1 off coupon in the app, but neither variety of cereal worked even though they were listed as part of the offer…
At any rate, here are the coupons that DID work!
-Dawn Powerwash refills: I bought 2 refills at $4 each and used a digital $3.99 off coupon, and there’s a “Store Discount” listed on the receipt, which I guess reflects the price after the $5/25 coupon was deducted. After both discounts, this comes to about $1.47 per bottle. Great price, I love this stuff!
-Colgate toothpaste: Jai used the same coupon I had done the previous day for $4 off Colgate toothpaste. He bought 2 tubes priced at $2.57 each, which made each tube .51 cents after coupon and Store Discount for the $5 off.
Schick Razors: I had a $3 off digital coupon for these, which were on sale for $5.40; so after both this coupon and the $5 off, this came to $1.66. I see these same razors sold in stores for as much as $15, so that’s a pretty great savings!
There were also a few surprise deals on this day. The first actually came to me via an employee! So on the first day of the Clearance Event, one of the employees walked by and asked if I needed any help as I stood there with 2 carts, studiously pouring over my coupon lists in my notebook. 😂 She chuckled and said she couldn’t wait to see what kind of deals I ended up doing. So fast forward to the following day: While I was looking through one of the clearance boxes, I heard Psst! behind me. I turned around, and it was this same employee. She handed me a little Valentine’s Day stuffed bear and Febreze-scented wax melts. She said, “That [bear] is ringing up .30 cents, and this [wax melts] is $1.45.” Isn’t that awesome?! I was so appreciative of her kindness in bringing me these clearance items she had found!
The second surprise was a slew of surprise pennies! When I was looking around for hidden clearance items, I decided to scan one of the Oregon Ducks t-shirts that were on display, because I *think* I heard Craz-E Coupons mention something about collegiate merchandise being included in some discounts during the event – apologies if that’s incorrect, but that’s the thought that motivated me to check, anyway! 😂 I casually scanned the first shirt in the pile to see if it was included in the clearance – then did a double-take when it showed up as 0.00! I went through all of the shirts in the display, and ended up finding 29 altogether – I completely cleared one of the shelves! Because these were pennies, I paid just .29 cents for all of these shirts, which originally cost $9 each – meaning I got $261 worth of shirts for .29 cents! These shirts are all in Youth sizes, so I’m giving a few to my nieces and nephew and will donate the rest. Now, I have no idea if these have just pennied, or if they’re old – I haven’t personally seen them on any lists. My gut instinct is that these are old pennies that have just been sitting here forever, because that display has been there for as long as I can remember. I’m also guessing this would be store specific, because my assumption is that each state would get the collegiate shirts for their state. But just in case these are new, or if any Oregonians want to check their store and see if they can find these, I’ve provided the UPCs below.
I then found a second surprise penny! There is a display of Oregon Ducks hats near the register, so of course I wanted to check those as well. The Ducks caps weren’t a penny, but when I pulled the first cap out to scan the barcode, there was another baseball cap in a different style that was tucked inside it so far that it was hidden from view. Just by looking at this lone hat that was mismatched to the rest of the hats on display, I could tell this had been here unnoticed for a really long time, and I thought to myself, “That’s probably a penny.” And I was right! Second surprise penny of the day! Once again, I don’t know for a fact whether this is a new or old penny, but I’m pretty certain this must be an old penny, because you could just tell it had been hidden from sight and forgotten for a very long time; it probably pennied ages ago, but since it was hidden from sight, it didn’t get pulled. But if anyone knows for sure when the hat and/or shirts pennied, I’d love to find out, so leave me a comment if you know!

 Click here to view image full size I also got some other bits of Valentine’s Day and Football items for .15 each that I had missed the previous day, 4 large bottles of Suave shampoo & conditioner at $1.87 each, which I thought was a decent stock-up price; I also found a hot pink hat that matches my purse perfectly and will also coordinate with my pink puffy winter coat that I just got, so I had to pick that one up for $1.87! I also found some blankets for $1.20 that will make great gifts, and two large body pillows that ended up being $1.66 each – I live with chronic pain and love body pillows as they really help me get more comfortable. Body pillows can be expensive, so I thought these would be handy to pick up, and I love that one of them is pink! I also got a few other bits and pieces – heat protectant because I just ran out, little items for gifts, etc.
On Sunday, new coupons were loaded to the DG app, and I spotted another hot deal with the Gain Fireworks, and got further coupon matchup ideas from this Craz-E Coupons video. So Jai and I went back to DG one final time this weekend and got the following:
-Gain Fireworks: So in the app, there was a store coupon for $2 off one Gain Fireworks which stacked with a manufacturer coupon for $1.55 off. The 10oz Fresh Water Sparkle scent was on sale for $3.37, so I thought I would get overage, but the store discount adjusted down to $1.81 off instead of $2 off and I ended up paying one cent for the Gain. I guess you can get overage with manufacturer coupons if you’re at an “Old register” store, but not with store coupons? Meanwhile, Jai didn’t even have the $1.55 off coupon offer in his account, just the $2 store coupon; but $1.37 is still a stock-up price, so he went ahead and got a bottle as well.
-Suave Men’s Bodywash: This was a clearance item I didn’t see out on the tables until Sunday night. This bodywash was $1.12, and Jai and I both had a .50/1 coupon in each of our accounts, so we both got a bottle, paying .62 cents each.
-CoverGirl Foundation: This foundation was on sale for $3.82, and there was a $2/1 coupon in my DG account, so I paid $1.82 total, which is a good price; and I’m also looking forward to trying this, because I don’t have much experience with powder foundations, and I love to play with new kinds of makeup!
-Baskets: I realized these 2 baskets were part of the Football merch and just .15 cents each, which is an awesome price, and perfect timing – I was literally thinking to myself the night before, “I need to get a couple more storage baskets”!

If you asked me, “Penny for your thoughts?”, I would gladly tell you – and take that penny to Dollar General! 😉 If you caught my post a few days ago, you will have seen that I’ve started “Penny shopping” and got quite the haul on Tuesday – if you missed the post, click here to read it, as I give some background on what exactly penny shopping is. I knew this was going to be a big week for penny shopping, because the community has been abuzz about the massive penny markdown that was happening today, February 9th. There were hundreds of items going to a penny, and items usually clearance on Tuesdays, so it was unusual to have so much stuff going to a penny in one week; I’ve heard some long-timers say this was the biggest penny list they’d ever seen, so it was a great week for me to get stuck in. I’ve been watching Dollar General deal creators all week in preparation – just as sports fans had their big day today, us deal shoppers did as well! HUGE thank you to Kristie’s Connections, Craz-E Coupons, The Freebie Guy and Roll Out Savings for all of the invaluble information they provided this week! On Saturday, I stopped by Dollar General and found 3 more toys from Tuesday’s penny list, these adorable play food sets, which I bought for .03 cents total. I’m not sure exactly what the original price was – they had been formerly marked down to $8 on clearance, I and I see them being sold on eBay for $24.99 new. Either way, they cost more than one penny before!

Today was the big day, and I left with a big haul: Approximately $217.89 worth of items for .85 cents! Because DG doesn’t show the original prices on the receipt or website, I looked around Google to estimate what these sold for originally. Here’s the breakdown – each item cost me one cent, and I’ve listed the original, full retail price next to it:
71 (!) birthday number candles, 0-9 – originally $1 each
1 Snackeez Cup – regularly $10
1 package of crayons – regularly $1.79
1 car air freshener, 4 ct. – regularly $3.19
1 bottle motor oil – regularly $4.95
2 cast iron pans – regularly $13.50 each
4 different Comfort Bay King Size Sheet Sets – regularly $24.99 each
What’s wild is that I have bought these kind of numbered birthday candles many times, and they typically always cost $1 each; and now I have a lifetime supply – plus everything else! – for LESS than $1!
I got everything except for the bedding in my first transaction, after which I came home, sat down, watched Craz-E Coupons’ newest video titled “PAY $.01! TURN AROUND! SURPRISE PENNIES!!” – and then promptly did just that, and turned around and headed back to the store! 😂 This video was where I learned that a bunch of penny info had just dropped for the bedding aisle as shoppers discovered “Surprise” pennies not on the lists while out shopping. I thought it would be worth checking to see if my store had any of these, and sure enough, they did! I don’t believe the sheet sets I found at my store were on the other lists, so I thought I’d take a photo of the front and back of the packaging so you can see what they look like, and the UPC codes. If these have already been posted elsewhere or if they were in Craz-E’s video and I missed it, I apologize; my eyes have been looking like this the last few days trying to absorb as many penny list visuals as I can, and at this point it’s hard to keep track and keep everything straight! 😂

Also – on The Freebie Guy’s visuals, it showed the silver candles I got in numbers 1-4, but as you can see above, 0-9 are all pennied as well; so I also snapped a pic of the front of the candles, illustrated by the top row, and the back of the candles, illustrated by the second row, so you can get the UPCs if you need them. The corresponding UPC for every candle is directly below each one. Today I’m sharing my Dollar General Haul, plus info for 3 new penny items I found that I haven’t seen listed elsewhere – read on to see my whole shopping trip or click here to jump to the images of the new penny items!
It’s been a long dry spell for me as far as coupons and deals are concerned, because the coupons on offer recently just haven’t been the same as back in the glory days. However, I’ve noticed that coupon deals have been picking up lately, and it’s been exciting to start doing hauls again! This morning, I scored a deal that reminded me of hauls I did during the early days of this blog: I picked up 44 items from Dollar General, worth approximately $146.66, for just .43 cents! That would be a great deal any time, but that’s an extraordinary deal for 2025!
 My receipts shown in the DG app – I did 2 transactions, because I found a few more items on my way out and got back in line before I left! I got one item for free with a coupon, and the rest were clearance items priced at 1 cent each. If you’re unfamiliar, Dollar General marks some clearance items down to a penny; I just learned about this recently through a video from Coupon Daddy, who was showing a penny haul and recommended the fabulous resource Kristie’s Connections. To learn more, check out Kristie’s “How To Penny Shop Dollar General” page and bookmark her site and YouTube channel, as this will be your go-to resource for finding penny deals! Last night and early this morning, I watched this video and this video from her channel about today’s penny deals, and with this list in hand, went in to my DG first thing this morning and hit the jackpot! I’m brand new to penny shopping, and this was a fabulous way to get started!
 Click the image to see my haul full size! So here’s the breakdown of what I got – the first item on the list was free after coupon, and each item after that was one penny. I’ve listed the full retail price for each penny item, just to give you an idea of what an amazing deal this was; since these are clearance items, it didn’t say what the original price was on the receipt, so what I did was look up the price of each item online in order to get an approximate retail value.
1 Air Wick Warmer – regularly $4, free after using the $4 off coupon in the DG app
4 bags of Ghirardelli chocolate – regularly $5
1 Fisher-Price Poppity Pop Hipppo – regularly $21.79
1 Fisher-Price Poppity Pop Turtle – regularly $7.88
1 Kiddy Dough Mini Dough Factory – regularly $7
1 Nerf gun – regularly $18.99
3 Storm Squad Blasters – regularly $12 each
16 fuzzy creature keychains – regularly $1 each
5 sparkly bird pens – regularly $1 each
10 Christmas 6 Color Pens – regularly $1 each
So my total from both transactions came to .43 cents for approximately $146.66 worth of items!!!
And, just in case anyone is wondering why I need 16 big-eyed, fuzzy keychains: The only products I am keeping for myself from this haul are pens and chocolate. The rest will be either gifted or donated – I have a little bag set aside to donate to a local classroom, gifts picked out for my nieces and nephews, and products being saved for other future gifting as well as this year’s Christmas toy drives. Early, I know, but I collect things year-round as I find sales! 😉 I only mention this because sometimes when people see a photo with a ton of items/multiples of the same product, it can be perceived as overconsumption or hoarding, and I see that kind of question come up a lot. So don’t worry, because nothing’s going to waste here and everything will be shared widely and enjoyed! 🙂

None of my penny deals today would have been possible without Kristie’s Connections, so huge thank you to her! One of the things she mentioned in her video this morning was that she expects that a lot of other clearance toys may be marked down to a penny also, and she recommended scanning all of the clearance toys at your local store by using your phone and the DG app to check the price. I did just that, and thanks to that tip I ended up discovering 3 new products that were also a penny!! I did not see these anywhere on Kristie’s list or on any other coupon creator content, so I wanted to share them here in case you guys can find them at your stores and snag a deal too!! If anyone has listed these already and I just missed it, please let me know, and I’ll update this and add their blog/social handles to this post! The first item I’m sharing is a brand/product I didn’t see anywhere on today’s list, and the second two are new variations of products from the list, i.e. separate items from the same product line with different UPCs.
